"Implementing iKiFit into our centre programme has exceeded our expectations. The Whole of Staff Professional Development has allowed all educators to be confident implementing the programme across all ages. The messages, the actions and music appeal to everyone and its fun!” - Judy Radich, Nominated Supervisor, Cooloon Children’s Centre Inc. Tweed Heads.

Studies have shown that children need fair, positive and consistent guidelines to flourish. At the heart of the iKi SRL program is a set of principles that create the foundation of the behaviour management component. Via a catchy song, the kids learn the iKi Rulz and quickly ‘own’ them. These provide the language and tools that clearly communicate expectations and consequences in a way that is easy to implement and assists teachers and parents in teaching ‘context appropriate’ behaviour inside and outside the classroom.

Additionally, research shows that incorporating physical activity into learning environments leads to changes in brain activity and better performance in cognitive tests, concentration and social interaction. iKi SRL workshops show teachers and parents how to incorporate the iKi SRL program in their classroom, centre or even at home, by engaging students through physical activity and music to produce better learning and behavioural outcomes. And did we mention it’s fun?

"Great, empowering, energetic! Thanks! Meshes with Early Childhood perfectly!"

Workshop participants will learn how to use the elements of the program in the classroom or home, build skills to better manage behaviours, be provided access to extensive resources and receive an introduction to iKiFit Energisers activities.

"I really enjoyed and gained more knowledge through the workshop today. It most definitely rejuvenated my work ethic towards my role as an Educator"

“The day exceeded all my expectations and I think it was the best staff development day that we ever had. The staff were totally engaged and gave very positive feedback at the end of the day.”  - Anne Holden, Principal

iKi SRL One Day Workshop and iKi Experience Outcomes

The goal of this course is to provide teachers with systems and strategies to manage the classroom effectively, and optimize student learning. Effective classroom management requires use of Evidence Based tools and methods, including positive guidance strategies for promoting appropriate individual behaviour and a range of methods for maintaining a good group-learning environment. Course participants will learn to define mutual interaction as it pertains to children’s behaviour in all contexts, identify aspects of effective praise and encouragement, and demonstrate an understanding of the importance of routines for early childhood development.

Behavior management is one of the biggest challenges childcare Educators and Teachers encounter on a day to day basis. This course offers strategies, guidelines and activities to help build a productive and respectful learning environment, while also providing key practices to dealing with challenging behaviour.
